George Rogers Clark High School Field House & Athletic Complex

This project consisted of the construction of the field house, baseball, and softball fields included in the athletic complex for George Rogers Clark High School in Winchester, KY. The field house construction featured load-bearing masonry and steel columns, as well as joist and decking on spread footings. The field house also features a Low Slope TPO roof with parapet. The exterior of the field house utilizes brick and stone veneer, as well as large coiling doors. The field house contains stained concrete floors in most areas, locker rooms and the office space. The center “main building” of the field house has a 100′ x 100′ multipurpose area with turf for indoor practice space. The surrounding baseball and softball field construction includes lighting and a batter’s eye. The baseball field has a raised concrete plaza. The complex also includes separate concession areas and press box buildings. The project was conducted on an occupied facility in which construction had to be coordinated with the parent pick-up/drop-off schedule.
