Fourth State Veterans Nursing Home

Fourth State Veterans Nursing Home, later named the Carl M. Brashear Radcliff Veterans Center, is comprised of a single-story central administrative and support building surrounded by four single-story residential buildings all set in a park-like campus. The exterior facades of the buildings are detailed with brick, lap siding. Each residential building consists of 30 private resident rooms divided into three 10-resident households. Each household has its own kitchen, dining/activity room, living/reading room and staff support areas. The private bedrooms are designed to be personalized by each resident and maximize safety, dignity and comfort within a residentially designed environment while emphasizing durability in materials.
