Bardstown Independent Elementary School

To prepare the site of this project for new construction, work began with the demolition of two homes, a pole barn and a tobacco barn existing on site prior to earthwork. The building is supported by spread footings, with Insulated Concrete Formed walls and concrete roof decking on the joint gymnasium and storm shelter, which can house the entire student body as well as all school staff. Solar panels installed on the roof power 50% of the lighting package. Combined with geothermal heat, this is a net-zero ready school.
